Techniques To Get Attention

Here’s some great ideas on how you can get the children’s attention when they arrive in the Active Zone.

 

Eyes On Me

Instructor:

One, two, three, eyes on me!

Students:

One, two, eyes on you!


Whistle Time

Instructor:

Use a whistle to make a tune.

Students:

At the end of the tune they clap.


Clapping

Instructor:

Claps a short rhythm.

Students:

Replicate the same rhythm.


 

Colored Cones

Instructor:

When I lift the blue cone you can be loud.

When I lift the orange cone you must be quiet.


Class Class

Instructor:

You loudly say “Class, Class.”

Students:

Students respond “Yes, Yes.”


Quiet Coyote

Instructor:

Make your hand into a coyote and say ‘Quiet Coyote’.

Students:

Students replicate the coyote
