Pay FAQ’s

 

At Active Education, we know that clear and timely payroll information is important. This Payroll FAQ is designed to answer common questions about pay periods, direct deposit, taxes, and more.

We use Homebase for scheduling and payroll, and it’s your main tool for tracking hours and accessing pay information. If you ever need help or notice something off, our team is always here to assist—just reach out to info@activeeducation.com.


Q. When is payday?
Payday is every two weeks, typically on Monday. Exact dates may vary slightly based on holidays.

Q. How often do we get paid?
Staff are paid biweekly (every two weeks).

Q. How do I access my pay stubs?
You can view and download your pay stubs directly through the Homebase app or website.

Q. Who do I contact for payroll questions or errors?
If you have any payroll-related questions or believe there is an error, please email us at info@activeeducation.com.

Q. How do I update my direct deposit information?
Log in to your Homebase account and update your bank details. If you need help, contact us.

Q. Are there deductions from my paycheck? What are they?
Yes. Required deductions include federal and state taxesSocial Security, and Medicare. Other deductions may apply based on your status or benefits.

Q. How do I request a copy of my W-2?
W-2s are distributed electronically through Homebase. You can download them in January.

Q. When will I receive my final paycheck if I leave the company?
In California, final pay depends on how you separate:

  • If you give at least 72 hours’ notice, you receive your final pay on your last day.

  • If you quit without notice, you’ll be paid within 72 hours.

Q. What if I forget to clock in or out?
Let your manager and the Operations Manager know immediately, and also email info@activeeducation.com with the correct time so we can adjust it.

Q. Can I track my hours before payday?
Yes. You can log into Homebase at any time to view your hours for the current pay period.

Q. Do you offer paper checks?
No. We pay via direct deposit through Homebase. Paper checks are not available.

Q. Why were taxes taken out of my check if I’m part-time?
All employees, regardless of hours, are subject to standard federal and state payroll tax withholdings.

Q. What should I do if I change my address?
Update your information in Homebase and notify us at info@activeeducation.com to ensure your records and tax forms are accurate.

Q. Will I be paid for training or meetings?
Yes, mandatory training is paid. Make sure to clock in for these events.

Q. How do I view my previous pay history?
Your full pay history is available in your Homebase account.

Q. Can I get a payroll summary for my records or taxes?
Yes. You can download summaries from Homebase.
