Game Explained
Space:
Space:
Students stay in the marked area. A field you use for a game will broadly be applicable. Divide the field into thirds across.
Task:
The cats are positioned in the central third where they must stay. With all the soccer balls. The mouse’s job is to get into the central third and steal a soccer ball (aka piece of cheese) that they dribble to the other side without being tagged. Tagged they become a Cat. Last mouse standing.
Equipment:
All the balls. Can use bibs, to identify to participants who are the Cats are. All the soccer ball you have.
People:
All participants.
Outcomes –Travel with the ball at different speeds, changing direction and identifying space.
Variations/ Progressions
Space: Adjust area to suit numbers/abilities. E.g. Bigger space for the cats to cover aids the mice
Task: Instead of being tagged by the cats the must steal back the soccer ball and/or play it out of play. When the central area get heavy with cats, some cats can be positioned in the back and front areas
