Non Stop Soccer Cricket

Game Explained

Space:
Probably use one full pitch you have marked out.

Task:
The pitcher kicks or throw’s the soccer ball to the kicker from inside their box.  The batter is trying to block the ball with their feet/legs and stop it from hitting the balls off the cones. They are also trying to kick the ball far away so that they can score runs by running around the side cones. The yellows are trying to catch the ball and return it two their pitcher. The batter gets three attempts, but they must run on the third, then the next batter comes in. The batter is out if the ball is caught or it knocks a ball of its cone. Play to three out or for 5 mins, then swap batters and fielders over

Equipment:
Ball, cones to mark pitcher box

People:
All participants. Likely need at times to use the coach as the pitcher to ensure accuracy and sensible service.

Outcomes –Releasing the ball (ball striking skills), tracking/blocking and controlling a ball

Variations/ Progressions

  1. Space: Adjust the distance of the pitcher to the batters.

  2. Task: Can use the boundaries of the field for scoring, if the batter kicks it over the boundary 4 runs, over the boundary in the air. Player’s can stay in until they are bowled or caught out

  3. Equipment: Use cones/dots to mark the minnows safe areas.

  4. People:  Can change the pitcher every 3 balls or so, so that everyone gets an opportunity at this role. Same with fielding positions so that everyone takes up areas that the ball with likely go.
