Foxes & Rabbits
Objective:
The fox attempts to catch all the rabbits that run past his den.
Set-up:
Mark out an area of appropriate size using cones/domes.
Create a middle section as the fox’s den.
Select 1 player to be the fox, who must stay in the den.
All other players are rabbits, starting on either side of the field.
How to Play:
Rabbits run across the field from one side to the other, passing through the fox’s den.
The fox tags rabbits (“eats” them).
If the rabbit makes its way across from one side to the other, they get one point/carrot.
Any tagged rabbit becomes a fox and joins the den.
Play continues until all rabbits are tagged or the time limit ends.
Progressions / Variations
Timed Runs: Rabbits must cross every 30 seconds.
Rabbit Holes: Add hula hoops as safe zones where rabbits can hide (foxes cannot get them for 5 seconds).
Steal the Food: Place cones in the fox’s den as “food.” Rabbits try to steal food while crossing—if all the food is stolen, the rabbits win.
